Lucy Gudewill
I am a Uvic BFA graduate specializing in drawing, photography and digital media. My program has provided me with great opportunities to explore valuable hands-on and theoretical learning. I am currently studying at VCAD in the 2 year graphic design diploma program. I have completed relevant courses such as photography, electronic design, Photoshop, typography, concept development and video/sound editing using Premiere and Audacity. Additionally, I have 3 years of customer service and retail sales work, in which I learned to relate to a wide variety of people, work under pressure and be a team player. Last year I worked for a 1 year and half as a graphic designer at the Royal Canadian Navy for a coop while attending school.
I am enthusiastic, hardworking and outgoing individual who has the drive to take the initiative and go above and beyond to create the best outcome in a professional environment. I am looking to build on my existing knowledge and develop new skills.
I have a strong eye for design and I am self-motivated individual, who is able to collaborate with others but also able to work independently. I will bring in fresh ideas and help shape the visual identity of your brand.
My professional goals are to gain experience in the working world in a creative industry. I am looking to learn new skills and strategies through hands-on experience, assisting others and learning their techniques to gain more insight. I am open to any job which involves creativity because by having experience in a variety of different creative industries I will achieve a a well rounded skillset, which I can apply to future projects.
